Peacemaking Peacemaking usually means examining which steps are useful in handling ongoing disputes and typically entails diplomatic actions aimed at bringing opposing parties to something like a mediated accord. It might include peaceful settlements such as negotiation, mediation or diplomatic interventions which are helpful in stopping conflicts or wars. Mostly peacemaking requires diplomatic efforts aimed at ending violence and such efforts are usually supported by state or political institutions.
