What is track one diplomacy?

Official governmental diplomacy or the track-one diplomacy means a methodology of state intervention that is basically a procedure by which communications from one government get straight to the decision-making mechanism of another.

Lets look into strengths of track one  diplomacy!

 • Regular course of interaction between states. 

• Track one diplomacy contains lots of resources and status. 

• They use carrot and stick method to negotiate military interventions and in withholding interventions and support. 

• These are official interactions. • Helpful in effective conflict resolution. • Could be bilateral or multilateral. 

• Can be regional or global. 

• Can be used to adjust another state to act accordingly in the interest of the contracting party or the powerful party. 

• Useful in creating mutual agreements with states.

• Can be carried out in different manners. Ex: Interactions in senior official or in ministerial level or lower official’s level. 

• Modes of interactions can be varied. Ex: Written interactions, formal meetings, normal conversations or in mixed interactions with diplomats. 

• Will help de-escalations of conflicts.
